ACNE VULGARIS (COMMON ACNE)

What is Acne Vulgaris?

Acne vulgaris is the most common form of acne. It happens when pores become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria, leading to various types of blemishes. It often appears on the face, chest, back, and shoulders and can range from mild to severe. 

Common Symptoms:

  • Whiteheads (small, closed plugged pores). 
  • Blackheads (open plugged pores with dark appearance). 
  • Papules — small, red, inflamed bumps. 
  • Pustules — red bumps with white or yellow pus inside. 
  • Nodules or cysts — larger, deeper, often painful lumps under the skin. 
  • Scarring or dark spots after breakouts heal
